Tauranga Airport Information
Tauranga Airport (IATA: TRG) is a regional airport 2NM to the north east of Tauranga city in the Bay of Plenty on the North Island of New Zealand.
A number of small charter and training operations are based here along with maintenance providers and the Tauranga Aero Club. Recently a museum has been opened at the airport. The are also small Tandem skydiving and Gliding operations based here.
Tauranga Airport is the current location for the Sportavex biennial fly-in and airshow.
Recently a study into the feasibility of a new airport at Paengaroa was produced but Tauranga Airport is yet to reach full operational capacity.
